Dhanurmas Pooja

During the Margsheersh month from Dec 15th to Jan 13th, we will be performing everyday pooja at 6 am. Temple darshan open daily between 6am to 7am.

On this special devotional month, the devotees get to wake up Lord Krishna in the serene early hours of the day  by singing the 30 pasuras of Thiruppavai, offer bhog/naivedya, perform the puja and aarti to Lord Krishna and Goda devi.

Dhanurmasa / Marghasirsha / Margazhli (Dec 16 to Jan 13) is a favorite month for Sri Krishna. He himself has described this in Bhagavad Gita. This month has great spiritual significance which starts with Margashirsha shukla ekadasi (the eleventh day in the bright half of the lunar month of Margashira) and extends up to the end of dakshinayana.

BG 10.35: Amongst the hymns in the Sāma Veda know me to be the Brihatsama; amongst poetic meters I am the Gayatri. Of the twelve months of the Hindu calendar I am Margsheersh, and of seasons I am spring, which brings forth flowers.
