Mahashivratri is one of the most devotional festivals celebrated in India and by people of Indian origin around the world.The word “Maha” means big or huge, “Ratri” means night and Shiv ji is the Lord in whom souls seek refuge. Thus, Mahashivratri is very significant for spiritual aspirants. On this evening and night, devotees engage in intense sadhana to enhance their spiritual growth. 


Mahashivratri is also the occasion of the wedding of Shiv-Parvati. It symbolizes Mother Parvati's selfless devotion to Lord Shiva. For her sake, Lord Shiva transformed from his terrifying form into the beautiful Lord Chandrasekhar for the wedding. Read more

Maha Shivratri is a popular Hindu festival dedicated to Lord Shiva. The name “Maha Shivratri” is associated with that night when Shiva performs the “Tandav”, the great dance of Lord Shiva.

 

The Mahashivratri celebrations will be held at the Radha Krishna Temple from March 8th 2024 to March 10th 2024.
