Ramayan is an ancient epic loaded with infinite wisdom. Stories in Ramayan embody timeless values and inspire us to broaden our consciousness. JKYog wants to rekindle the essence of the story of Lord Ram, an immortal tale of Heroism, Courage, Love, Loyalty, Devotion, Duty and primarily the Triumph of GOOD over EVIL. A humble attempt to present for the first time, Worldwide Ramayan Utsav.

Navarasa Rama

Navarasa Rama- Dance Performance

The Abhinaya Dance Company of San Jose presents this piece portraying Lord Rama as the one who embodies the navarasas or nine emotions in his form. The navarasas are Shringara (love), Veera (valor), Karuna (compassion), Adbhuta (wonder), Hasya (laughter), Bhayanaka (fear), Bibhatsa (disgust), Roudra (anger), and Shantha (tranquility). This will be followed by a kriti in praise of the noble Prince Rama.

Choreography- Artistic Director Mythili Kumar, Founder of Abhinaya Dance Company of San Jose.

Navavidha Bhakthi

Navavidha Bhakthi- Dance Performance

The Abhinaya Dance Company of San Jose presents in this piece with nine different ways of worshipping the Supreme Lord Vishnu are described through the characters of the epic Ramayana.

Musicians- Asha Ramesh (vocal) , N. Narayan (mridangam), Shanti Narayan (violin), Ragavan Manian (flute), and Malavika and Mythili Kumar on the nattuvangam.

Choreography- Artistic Director Mythili Kumar, Founder of Abhinaya Dance Company of San Jose.
